SPARTA CIO, Patricia Shea, attended the CIO Forum & Executive IT Summit, a roundtable of leading CIOs and IT executives in Connecticut on May 15 -16, 2008. The discussions and presentations were focused on a variety of issues in connection with IT organization and infrastructure development, including server and storage virtualization, disaster recovery, strategic alignment, career growth and employee retention. Darwin John, former CIO of the FBI, gave the key note address entitled “Grooming the next CIO”, an exposition on the leadership required to deliver IT, be responsive to its constituencies and lead change in one’s self and others in the organization.

It is essential to take the time to thoughtfully assess the issues of today and the future with leading experts from a broad range of industries.
