Brian P. Mulroy is Executive Vice President and Chief Underwriting Officer of SPARTA, responsible for overall management of the underwriting functions including product development, regulatory compliance, and loss control. Mr. Mulroy is a member of the Underwriting and Risk Committees.
Prior to joining SPARTA as a member of the initial management team responsible for launching the company, Mr. Mulroy was Chief Operating Officer at Discover Re, where he managed regulatory compliance and product development, administration, premium audit, and human resources. Mr. Mulroy began his career as a loss control engineer for Aetna Life & Casualty where he ultimately was responsible for underwriting and product development for the small commercial accounts business unit. Upon acquisition by Travelers Insurance, he led the transition work resulting in the creation of the specialty construction business segment.
Mr. Mulroy has a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Connecticut, concentrating in Actuarial Science, with a minor in Risk Management and Insurance. His interests include music, the history of mathematics, and landscaping.
