Since May I, 2007, Mr. Buckman has been the Vice Chairman of York Capital Management. From January 2007 until May, he had acted as Senior Consultant to York.
From 1992 through 2006, he was Senior Executive Vice President (and from 1998 Vice Chairman) and General Counsel and a member of the Board of Directors of Cendant Corporation or its predecessor, HFS Incorporated.
For the years 1990 and 1991, Mr. Buckman was a partner in the Atlanta law firm, Troutman Sanders LLP. He had also been an Associate and Partner in that firm from 1974 to 1985.
Prior to returning to Troutman Sanders in 1990, he had served from 1985 through 1989 as Executive Vice President and General Counsel and a member of the Board of Directors of Days Inns Corp.
From 1972 until joining Troutman Sanders in 1974, Mr. Buckman was Assistant General Counsel of Gable industries, Inc. Prior to that position, he was an Associate with the New York law firm Dewey, Ballantine, Bushby, Palmer & Wood from June 1969.
Mr. Buckman received an A.B. degree from Fordham University in 1966 and a J.D. degree from Yale Law School in 1969.
Mr. Buckman is a member of the Board of Directors of Wyndham Worldwide Corporation. He is also a Trustee of Marymount Manhattan College, The HealthCare Chaplaincy, the Museum of the City of New York and a Director of the New York Philharmonic. He is also a Trustee Fellow of Fordham University.
