Kevin G. Costello

Kevin G. Costello is co-founder, President and Chief Operating Officer of SPARTA, responsible for the general management and all operating functions and results of the company.
Prior to founding SPARTA, Mr. Costello was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Alea Alternative Risk, a specialty program insurance provider which he co-founded as Equus Re Alternative Risk in 1998. In that capacity he was responsible for the general and operations management of the company. Mr. Costello began his career as an attorney practicing in Philadelphia and New York in the areas of insurance defense and coverage litigation for domestic and international clients. He entered the company side of the insurance industry as a claims attorney for Discover Re.
Mr. Costello has a Master of Laws in International and Comparative Law from Georgetown University Law Center, Juris Doctor from Temple University Law School, Bachelor of Arts in World Politics from The Catholic University of America, and studied at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. He is admitted to the bar in the states of New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Mr. Costello is on the Board of Directors of The YMCA of Greater Hartford and is a youth soccer coach in West Hartford. His interests are history, literature, and public affairs.
